Decades had past, peace
in ASEAN region is only a discussion not a reality, it seems that peace is only
a propaganda used as a metaphor to achieve transient agreements. The real definition of peace comes from a
wide variety of aspects that leaders among ASEAN countries must consider. The package of peace can be attained through
constant communication among countries with considerations to the important basic
aspects of needs of a given country.
First, business sector
consolidation is needed for all ASEAN members to agree upon in order to balance
the national equity for each member country.
This will allow free trade agreements which will lessen the tariff and
balance the goods that are insufficient in another region. Free business trade considers also the
uniformity of laws and documentations to lessen the errors of transactions and
achieve a faster flow of paper works.
Achieving this documentation uniformity will demand an upgraded human
resource to handle the task and anticipate the inter-border business protocols. Moreover, the fundamental concepts of
reciprocity of demand and supply must be given a great concern for each member
countries. Once a member country is not
sufficiently supplied for its society’s basic needs, the essence of its ASEAN
membership towards the general public is fuzzy.
Business departments of each member countries must see to it that by
being a member of ASEAN, the country represented will benefit from the member
countries. Getting business benefits from each member
countries needs an organize business programming considering the capacity of
one member country to supply evenly to the member countries in a regular
manner.
Second consideration must
focus to the education sector were by education curriculum must emphasize the
unity of teaching materials from kindergarten to university emphasizing the
societies benefits in embracing ASEAN spirit. In addition, considering the
higher education’s important role of the ASEAN program… collaboration of
research studies among member countries will allow each member country to know
extensively the core and detailed sociological and anthropological nature of a
given member country. By allowing this
research collaboration, a faster fusion of sociological behavior will be
attained.
Finally, when culture
and religion will come to a more tolerant behavior allowing each segment of
society to exercise its rights and view culture and religion as a myth of
society passed on through generations, then we come to realize that life and individual
relationships among member countries represented are far more important in
achieving the road to ASEAN unity.
