We often hear e-learning around the internet community were
in modern education even embraces the system of e-learning ; without a doubt,
to some notions e-learning can be practiced at schools and universities
only. This belief will not give the true
meaning of e-learning.

The basic concept of e-learning is a collaborative
educational system that an individual can refer its educational feedback
across the internet universe. E-learning
further gives the meaning of continues education through internet usage. Even an individual is finished its
professional career in universities, an e-learner must continuously upgrade its
professional knowledge through e-learning.
Most of the multi-national companies
are integrating e-learning to their Human Resource appraisal by collaborating
other global branches of the Company or other companies with the same nature of
product operation orientation. In this
system human resource of a given company will have the idea and knowledge as to
what is the actual operation to other business companies. To give an idea, say for example if the
marketing department of a given company is engaging e-learning with other
company’s marketing department a creative knowledge can be formed different
from the usual appraisal of human resource inside the company.
In other words, e-learning is a personal
appraisal not only can be practiced by professionals inside the universities or
companies. What I’m trying to convey
that learning inside the school and the HR appraisal inside the companies are
not enough to sustain the interactive knowledge in this 21st
century. To give a case on the
individual on e-learning appraisal, say for example an entrepreneurial
businessman is having a business venture that requires knowledge to maintain
the business.
Usually, governments
around the world give programs to small and medium enterprise through seminars
conducted by the government. But with
the new system of e-learning, citizens running the SME businesses may not rely
only from the knowledge imparted through the public and private SME seminars
but rather SME businessmen can upgrade their knowledge through online formal
educational upgrading. To some who still
cannot visualize the system of personal e-learning, let me bring you back to my
blog few months ago regarding the internet program of MIT and Harvard
University.
MIT & Harvard are
running the new educational program that solely involves e-learning. The system allows student graduates from
different regions of the world to collaborate their knowledge with the standard
discipline of MIT & Harvard. The brilliant
part with this program is that the raw gathering knowledge torrents around the
world will define the new knowledge suited towards accomplishing the human
resource task of the 21st century.
As part of the program of e-learning, one university should
electronically collaborate with other universities provide that the faculty or discipline
of the subject matter must be the same.
Further proof for individual educational knowledge enhancement is the
opening of Google Education http://www.google.com/edu/
this platform being offered by google to all the world population is simply to
collaborate teachers to teachers, students to students, and most of all
students to teachers in a global sense.
If we can recall the classroom activities this late 90’s teachers and
educational institutions are more incline towards case study and analysis which
will depict the actual business situation outside the classroom and apply it in
the theories studied inside the school. Further
advancement of e-learning will not only collaborate the theories to actual
recorded cases but rather the advance benefit of e-learning will allow the
student to reflect the classroom knowledge towards the actual business in real
time and moreover students can further seek advice and peer review across the
internet using google education and other platforms.
As e-learning is being accepted in the
mainstream education of many top universities, the future of e-education and
e-learning is a long way to go. What we
see from the latest updates of e-learning usage of Harvard and MIT is just the
beginning of e-learning. But what is
vital today is to integrate e-learning not only in schools and universities but
to the existing companies as well. Global education can be realized through
the usage of e-learning in the classroom.
Just make sure that the students or the human resource inside the
company are interacting with other people around the world with an equivalent
academic faculty and discipline to define the true meaning of e-learning.
