The latest with Apple technology is with their “mini-SIM connector” which will eliminate the
old system of computer phone SIM slot and increasing the preservation of the
hardware both the SIM and the phone itself.
Another technology from Apple Company but also it’s another new
“copycat” technology for the world.
Now,
why Apple Company is so particular in monitoring companies who tries to copy
their products, this business technology attitude is so annoying in the side of
Apple Company and on the other hand it’s a taunting feeling for other companies
to always follow the shadow of Apple’s technological advancement. If we recall the basic concepts of technology
guerilla marketing warfare, emulating another product is actually saving cost
for product research and development of a given company. One of the hardest parts in business is when
the marketing department will demand both research and development and the
production line to upgrade the product immediately in order to maintain the
consumer demand, upgrading a product or creating a new platform of the product
is a brain cracking job that allows high skilled personnel to obtain the
task. Indeed, copying the product
development of apple and revising a little of its features will eliminate the definition
of “pirating”.
Furthermore analysis on
copying, why if one will copy its always an advantage… even teachers are always
telling their students not to copy… but students almost every schools
copy. In companies we have Patent
issues, and in schools and universities we have plagiarism issues. The comfort of copying will outperform the
actual doer of the task; in other words copying is another form of laziness or
we can say “Professional laziness”. But
if we visit the actual situation of guerilla marketing, we can say that bending
and not breaking the law is still fine for as long the business will
survive. This issue of patentship is
having a thin line between copying and reinventing or upgrading. Despite the fact that if a given company will
buy the patent of Apple Company with its new “SIM card connector” and add more
feature to it, still more market share will shift their customer’s preference and
loyalty to the innovated product.
Still
Apple is in a dilemma of “Patent War” .
Apple Company must realize that “copycats” are just around the corner
waiting for the platform of innovation to come out to the market. In my personal intuition if given the case,
Apple Company must create a business technology strategy that will put all its
competitors to a blind spot allowing other companies to say nothing but a big
“awhh” this time Apple can enjoy the
“cash cow” marketing situation were in
consumers will have no other choice but to have one product only.
To give a tech analogy, Microsoft company
before when they release their Windows OS platform they enjoy the “Cash Cow”
marketing situation for a long period of time giving a confusing time for other
companies to investigate and verify the core competency of Microsoft OS
platform. Indeed, based from tech
history; Microsoft OS is outperformed by other products today especially with
the practical acceptance of the tech market of the “Open Source OS” products
we can enjoy today. Furthermore, the shifting of market behavior to mobile
internet usage allows the other software companies such as Andriod Company to
get a larger share compared to Microsoft Mobile Services today. Fundamentally, we can conclude that higher
intelligence of the subject matter will allow Apple Company to enjoy the “Cash
Cow” plateau of consumer and marketer relationship. And maintaining the business technology
“Blindspot” will further eliminate the piracy and “copy cats” product technology
problem.
