The Morality of Machines: Teaching AI the principles of Humans

We’ve seen many movies and read novel stories about robots that can execute like human beings.  In the future robotics technology will become more advance that people will become more lazy to do even simple household chores. The worst thing to happen when robots will become smarter compared to humans.

At this time mankind will be threaten with its own making that to the extent we cannot control the morality of the machines.  AI is a complex accumulation of knowledge that maybe machines in the future can form their own logical decisions.  But what if the logic and principles created by robots from the accumulated knowledge acquired is not in accordance with the basic human culture and norm? A chaotic society will result were machines and humans will live together in one place not in peace but in war.

Maybe any reader of my blog will feel the exaggeration of my ideas but come to think about the modern machineries today that involves the AI technology of robotics.  As an example we can practically see the modern medical tourism with new AI aided machine designs to satisfy the customers far from the physical medical infrastructure given.  Further samples that we can discuss are the technologies in department stores and supermarkets used to make the operation of the business faster and (JIT ) just in time method.  

Engineering operations are using also a lot of AI technologies to accurately execute the complex task in building the new high technology buildings and bridges of today.  Even the Google cars today, people without license can drive the car dependently without the help of the human skills.  All of these technological comforts are driven by the smartness of AI (Artificial Intelligence) not by human intelligence.  

Looking back from my previous blog discussion about the maximum capacity of human mind to compete with the AI technology (http://ryansinnovativeideas.blogspot.com/2012/12/how-can-human-mind-exist-in-modern.html) we can contemplate the accuracy of intelligence given by AI compared to the faulty thinking of human mind which is based on emotion and fear.  Indeed, we can conceive that in the near future governments around the world must give concern of this AI society merging with humans before the AI morals will get into conflict with the morals of our preserved human cultures and norms.   

Civil and Moral laws of the land must include the AI society to prepare the way to a harmonious humans and robotics society in the future.  In the contrary, we may think…What if there is no AI and robotics technology? Can we survive our world with enormous amount of human population without the help of robotics and AI technology? I believe we can have the unanimous answer of no (feel free to give your notions and comments regarding this idea below this blog) AI technology helps lighten the complicated task of human technology today.  To give an example for this idea; before, cars are made by a limited number and all cars are produced by human power.  But in the later generation when Ford Company introduce the mass production of cars; the unit price of cars is much cheaper and larger number in production compared to the old system of manufacturing before Ford Company introduced the production line.  

Thus, mass production of cars today is not done by humans anymore but rather the intelligent society of robotics to execute more production of cars. Accordingly, morals of the robotic society must be addressed at the earliest stage before any complications of values towards human society will emerge.  Railroading the law of the land in accordance to the advancement of technology will help the future human generation of the world live in an organized manner with the robotics society respecting both the preserved values of human society and the future of robotic society.
