Product quality
control for companies is an important process in completing a batch of products
manufactured in a certain period of time.
Monitoring the quality of product output in a manufacturing company is a
normal routine practice that sometimes the effectiveness of quality checking
system is exhausted due to the volume demand output per batch.
As a result, the case of Wagner Orchards; the
company relied to the statistical tool of Convenience Sampling to get the
quality cherries from the orchards. To
give a picture of the process, orchards, plantations, and agricultural business
must consider the high risk of having a defective output of harvest bearing in
mind the natural tendencies of weather conditions and pest assail during the
planting session.
With this regard, product
harvested output of Wagner Orchards must have a statistical technique in
checking the quality output for each batch, from the cherry farm down to the packaging
and delivery of the cherries to the designated department stores. In the packaging plant, the quality control
manager will randomly select samples for quality checking such as size, color,
shape and other physical features that will affect the visual and taste impairment
perception of the customer.
Convenience
Sampling further helps other production quality control, but as the demand of
high quality products in the modern market today variation of different
statistical sampling are being tested such as; simple random sampling, stratified
random sampling, systematic random sampling, and cluster sampling.
