negotiation related to law are associated with sports business. With the variety of sports around the world
different sports requires different nature of endorsements, PR, and Marketing
strategy. The two most important roles
in sport business that I’ve known so far are the commissioners, team owners,
and agents.
Commissioners are the people
who are known to be running the whole event or sports. They do the entire marketing program for the
sports including PR and advertising.
Most U.S. related sports are gaining money through pay per view
bases. Several agencies and companies
will sponsor the whole event, the team, or a certain sports superstar. All things that will relate to the
advertising and marketing that will allow any product to be aired during the
sports event, is deemed potential for business.
On the other hand, a single player may not only get his
profit through the yearly contract of the team for example but rather from companies
who will hire them separately for TV advertising. Certainly, famous superstars in Basketball
like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, & Lebron James are earning
millions of dollars not from the actual Basketball League but from their outside
endorsements.
