My love of coffee inspire me to blog about the product since I launched this website. Most of my
blog regarding the business and production of coffee connects to the entrepreneurial
operation of the product. In the latest
web news update regarding the falling of coffee price in Vietnam alarms the coffee
related businesses in Asia.
The increase
of supply will again hurt the local farmers in their agricultural business
while on the other hand the baristas are still enjoying the high retail price
of coffee finished products in the coffee shops. By July the contract by the
robusta went down by $42 that is 2.4 percent, at $1,736 a ton last Wednesday. The lowering of buying price hurts the actual
farmers which will relate to the case in Africa. How can the ASEAN and the countries all over
Asia maximize the consumer retailing by which business operator can give lower
price to the consumer but high buying rate to the raw suppliers which is the farmers.
Maybe, complains from the coffee business
sector will relatively follow but the coffee cartel must consider the economic
impact of the coffee commodity towards the local farmers in ASEAN and Asia at
large. Finally, what is the real setup
of the coffee economy is the same as before were the raw coffee product is
bought in a lower price but the baristas are enjoying the golden price set to
the end consumer. Remember “coffee is
the new black gold”.
