Social Media (VLOGGING & BLOGGING) is the New Main Stream Media; The Obsoleteness of Philippine Media

Since the birth of internet and social media main stream media like CNN and other International renowned media companies are starting to adopt the approach of real time media “tweeting” and live video feeds from amateur journalist and volunteers around the world.  Even world leaders and prominent personalities in all walks of life are having their own social media accounts to convey events that are believed to be important to the public.  From the common people in the war in Iraq, real time situation in the remote places of Iraq are transmitted via twitter by the common people trap during the war and CNN main office in US are showing the streams of tweets across the web.  What happened during that time in Iraq until Hurricane Katrina, many lives had been saved due to the effectiveness and fastness of Social Media portals.

AWKWARDLY, the Philippine Media is still orthodox in their approach in terms of getting the current affairs of the people of the country.  Many media companies are privately owned in which articles are being controlled of course from their “bosses” that feed them with their monthly salaries.  SADLY, instead of entertaining the SOCIAL MEDIA PULSE streaming online they try to divert and block “fresh” updates from the current social events of the country.  WHERE IS THE FREEDOM OF THE PRESS.  Indeed, mainstream media of the Philippines are just called mainstream media because they have financial capital to pay their so called “editors” LoL.  But in reality, they are controlled by companies who are making their bellies fat.

The Most Modern Approach of Media in the Philippines

But only one media company lately who expresses interest from the public views, social media and blogging; RAPPLER is having a modern approach of getting the PUBLIC PULSE by crunching electronically the mode of the public viewer of their daily headlines.  A summary real time MODE METER will show which published article of the day gives the public happiness and sadness for example and etc.
