Dissecting deeper the theories of Simon Winchester in his publication Pacific opens my new concepts that the Pacific political and climate dilemma is but an occurrence of the natural and political evolution of the Pacific countries and the world governments. In this blog article I would like to incorporate the publications of Peter Watson’s “Convergence” and Sean Carroll’s “The Big Picture”. Back in Chapter 1 of the book Pacific, Simon tried to show that American government since World War 2 is the dominant military super power in the Pacific he even argued in one of his academic interviews that China’s clamor between the territorial dispute in the Pacific is far comparable to what America occupied in the Pacific.
At the same time, during World War 2 business
between Japan and America and Europe are continuously sound specifically the
business in Radio technology. Sony
Company is supplying Home Radio technology in US at that time not knowing that
Sony brand is made in Japan. At present
Sony is one of America’s biggest companies who owns most of the operating
businesses in Hollywood. Another chapter that is more interesting in the
publication of Simon the Pacific when he discusses the Climate related topic
like the “Ring of Fire” that resulted too many volcanic eruptions and ocean tsunamis
in the Pacific Region. The Pinatubo
eruption in the Philippines and more active Volcanoes in Indonesia are just a
relative natural occurrence in the Tsunami in Thailand years ago. The Pacific is so interesting that both
Political and Natural Phenomenon are all inside in a cup of coffee mixing the
cream and the coffee together that blends an aroma that spreads its scent
throughout the world. The “Coffee”
concept that we can relate to the political and the environmental setup in the
Pacific proves the theory of Sean Carroll in his book “The Big Picture On the
Origins of Life, Meaning and the Universe Itself” (Chapter 8) that political culture
and natural phenomenon can merge in one
political region just like the cream and coffee. According to the writing of Carroll that “The
Universe is a set of quantum fields obeying equations that don’t even
distinguish between past and future, much less embody any long-term goals. How
in the world did something as organized as a human being ever come to be?”. The
entropy and emerge of the Pacific proves that Immanuel Kant’s Theory about the
unbending mechanistic rules governing the motions of planets and pendulums are existing
in the living world.
The classic Theory
of Darwin in evolution also proves that the Pacific is both emerging in both
political and natural evolution. According to Carroll that “entropy provides an
arrow of time; emergence gives us a way of talking about collective structures
that can live and evolve and have goals and desires. Moreover, the second law of thermodynamics
says that the entropy of isolated systems increases over time, which means that
as time goes by complexity both in political and natural phenomenon in the
region will become complicated but into such time the “blend” between
the time, moment, and the technical machines being used in the Pacific will
give positive relevance to all the habitats in the Pacific. Our goal as the citizens of the Pacific and
the world at large is to find plausible solutions both political and environmental
so that we can ultimately be one in the basis of naturalism affecting the many
aspects of civilization just like the cream and the coffee that blends an aroma
that enhance the ultimate expected taste for a morning cup of coffee.
Further studies of the publication of Peter Watson “Convergence”
(Chapter 14) shows that Climatology, Oceanography, and Ethnography myth will
result to a big history in the Pacific and the world. I’ve said that statement because from the
three books of Simon, Sean, and Peter all these three authors’ discuss clearly
that one variable in the involvement of natural phenomenon in the Pacific and
the world is the “Ring of Fire” in the Pacific.
The three academic publications always stated in a clear narrative view
that as the “Ring of Fire” in the Pacific will create tremors to oceans it will
result to many unpleasant variables both natural and political. According to Watson and Carroll that the
melting of ice in the North Pole and the Western Countries will cause rising
seas in the Atlantis and the Pacific that small countries in the Pacific region
will suffer greatly in the rising of seas.
Relatively, national resources in the region of the Pacific and the ASEAN
region will suffer specifically the Agriculture sector that gives basic food
commodity to the general public. Oil
commodity in the region will be scarce as well that the affected commodity will
rise in terms of market price according to the laws of the micro and macro
economic laws. Watson further exaggeratedly relates all phenomenon to the
change of climate in the Pacific that will result to an era of Ice Age. The “Coffee and Cream” Theory of Carroll will
prove that one day nature itself will lead to the civic governance in the region of
the Pacific. Accordingly, an academic
suggestion of Watson proves the theory of Kissinger in terms of the “New World
Order” due to extreme climate phenomenon and political instability in the
region, political order must be needed to tame the habitats in the Pacific
region. Failure to do so, we will still
naturally come up to a “new world order” not man made that many political entities
of the world failed to negotiate but rather “Our Nature Itself” will come to
its order. Myth or no myth our Pacific
Rim is already in political chaos since World War 2. The Neolithic Revolution in Euroasia proves
that Asia and the Pacific has a lot to reconcile in terms of political and
environmental issues.
But sad to ponder
upon that the cause of high sea level in the Pacific are from the melting of
ice in the north that most of the high technology mining exploration in the
north region of the world are operated not by Asian companies but rather by
advance technological companies from Europe and US. As a result we collaboratively join the climate
change program in Asia that it’s seems that we are in the point of no
return. During the devastation of the
ozone layer during the industrial revolution Asia Pacific is not enjoying the
wealth produced by the technology of the many industries in Europe and America. As a result they became rich nations,
building advance business technology companies like IBM and GE for
example. But today these huge
conglomerates that harvested the wealth of the natural world did little to the
program of “global climate” change. I
hope that the environmental activism of the famous Hollywood personality Leonardo DiCaprio
will resonate the world with regards to the awareness of climate change and its
political issues. As Simon Winchester reiterated
in his book that the Pacific is a mixture of political and climate dilemma that
only mankind can address the soonest. Indeed, The Pacific is the Ocean of the
Future.
