Living in peace with Rome during the time of the Caesars is hard to imagine without it. Being secured with Rome at that time is a dream of every country and kingdom around the world to serve and be allied with Caesar and Rome. The brilliant political and military strategy of Rome to conquer kingdoms around the world starts when Rome authorizes its political system to allow peace negotiations with other countries and build economic relationship to prosper as a group of kingdoms. On the other hand high ranking and rich officials in Rome are also building legions of military fighters to conquer or be allied with neighboring kingdoms.

Art of War is not analyzed
by Sun Tzu alone but the Romans and before the Greeks and the Egyptians as well
are studying political strategy related to war.
But Rome is so effective at that time that even America today envies the
dominance of Rome in terms of Military and economics around the world. The fact that America can only dominate in
terms of science and military but a little bet unsure in terms of
economics. I don’t know why America did
not manage very well the credit crisis last 2008 that the system of World Bank
and World Trade is but similar to the Kingdoms that gave their taxes to Rome at
that time. The rise of Rome continues at
that time that such time when their enemies chooses rather to be allies knowing
that the power of Rome is unmatched in terms of politics, military, and
economics. At such point Rome became so
powerful that Rome just started around 753 BC. Neighbor or Rome such as
Etruscans or Greek colonies such as Capua.
While Greeks and Persians are also writing histories of their kingdoms the
Romans on the other hand started their history recording around 200 BC. Many knowledge and innovation from Greece and
Persia was copied and added or upgraded by Roman engineers with the help of the
Roman Scholars and Researchers.
THE REPUBLIC
Laws were preserved at that time in the Senate and the
legislative body. Due to the effectivity
of Roman legislative body many negotiation across the globe was so successful
and they were able to gather more economic and military strength for the
Republic. Songs and stories told about the past are being kept by scholars to
preserve knowledge and history for their future ancestors. Over the years Rome grew in size and
political influence. Population also increase were in the number of people
helped the Republic in terms of military and economic man power. Many stronger neighboring Kingdoms was also
in blood battle with the Roman legions.
As the Roman legions are the most effective decentralize system of
military ranking that rich land lords can form their legions under the name of
Caesar. Thus the Republican legions are
so famous with some “ala” or cavalry units.
With this political and military setup Roman supremacy are worshiped by
kingdoms for protection of their economic and political interest. Groups like
Aequi, Volsci, Samnites, and Apennines are more interested with the fertile
lands. Since before and during the Roman
civilization fertile lands is already part of the heated politics between
countries to gain dominance of the geographical land and pursue farming and economic
growth.

When Military Might meets the Might of Beauty and Seduction
Gallic tribe also went to the
north of Italy. The famous Herodotus declared defeat against these smaller
tribes during the feudal war across the neighboring kingdoms of Rome. Thus, Rome’s peace treaty Pax Romana is
indeed a need to achieve peaceful trade and political relationship between
kingdoms. But with the city of Etruscan of Veii, Romans might was showed to the
kingdom with a bloody war to remind the people of Veii that they deserve
nothing but to be allied or surrender their kingdom to the Romans. In the present geopolitical disputes
countries who claimed rights of the territorial seas will just end nothing
except to unite and make out of good from the disputed area of geographic
responsibility. To fight for a land
today will create a chain of political conflict across the series of UN member
countries that will only give reason for the US to attack the country just what
they did to Iraq and Syria.
Relatively,
Rome at that time is creating also an impasse political scenario for every
country to submit to the command of the Roman Empire that even the Cleopatra
submitted her allegiance to Caesar and Rome.
Another brilliant ideas of the Roman armies and scholars is that they
copied the relevant ideas specifically the warfare ideas of their enemies to be
applied in their warfare technology and their future wars. As a Republic Rome was the center of
everything at that time. To the view of
other Kingdoms to be allied with Rome is much safer compared to be enemies. In
the case of Cleopatra, she always see to it that the safety of her Kingdom and
countrymen is a priority above herself.
Offering herself to Caesar is least to happen to a queen in a kingdom.
THE INTERESTING FALL OF JULIUS CAESAR:
The story of Rome is full of wealth and tragedy that
historians are having fun time of writing every story that connects to the
majestic power of Rome. But what interest me
the most is the fall of Julius Caesar that in a military point of view Julius
Caesar is a patriotic military man that made Rome put to its political
supremacy. But then again the fall of
Caesar came when the Senate betrayed him.
Politicians in the Senate room at that time that all they care is their
personal interest and power and of course their political intellect ruled to
the assassination of Julius Caesar in the Senate Chambers. According to the story, Caesar was not killed
in the line of battle while facing the worst enemies at that time but rather
the greedy senators who doesn’t know the meaning of Patriotism towards the
Kingdom. Some senators at that time
pretend to be military men not knowing the value and prestige of being a
military, protecting Caesar at that time is between life and death. But to the regret of the whole republic too much politicking and greed in the senate chambers caused the downfall of the
kingdom of Rome and Julius Caesar at that time.
A big lesson to modern readers of my blog and a big lesson to my
learners in International business as well that too much political greed will
drive patriotism away. Senators are the culprits
during the time of Julius Caesar how about today?
