The physical matter that moves the earth and its life
revolves upon the holistic functions of the natural logic and algorithmic
behavior of the universe. The text being
published by Prof. Sean Carroll will open the minds of the readers of the book
to the outmost understanding of life’s origin and its physical and
philosophical destination. The novel of
Dan Browns latest published novel the “Origins” will be more understood if we dissect
the exact detailed facts written by Sean Carroll in his book “The Big Picture
on the Origins of Life, Meaning and the Universe Itself. Human beings by nature tries to find meaning
of life through the centuries since knowledge of men progresses with the
determinants of the environmental factors such as education through learning
experience and the advancement of technology.
Since the birth of life, men are still finding the best way as to how
life originated with the factual and natural reason in giving the best and
concrete explanation of life and the universe.
If we can relate to the long experience of life and the universe,
mankind learned in his own ways the natural experience with the world and its
mental development related to the understanding of life.
But as logic and reason started to complicate
and intertwine in the logical minds of humans, mankind started to find the very
origins of its specie. Thus, men started to base their premise in terms of
their origins from their acquired theories from their life experiences and the
myths and the stories from their ancestors from the past generations. But since the technology of recording is not
that accurate at that time our ancient ancestor failed to give the detailed history
of the past that relates to the origins of humans. As what we generally know from many
archeologist, historians and archeologists depends more of their research evidences
from the remains of the apes being excavated from the Mediterranean and Africa
for example that sometimes it will complicate the conclusion of the actual
conclusion of the many empirical studies being conducted by many
governments. For what reason that
governments around the world needs to decipher and concretely know the origin
of species that to many people the issue is still a question for so many minds
of today.
On the contrary, consider the
history of civilization when men entered the era of religiosity men started to
educate their minds in terms of the stories and myths being portrayed by many
scholars of the past. The stories of
Zeus and the Greek Gods ruled the minds of the civilization at that point in
time. Thus, as the years gone by those
stories and myths became cultural beliefs pass on to the next generation. As such, stories created from the imaginative
minds at that time excluding the process of hypothesizing and testing. Men naturally believe more of the
unbelievable. Thus, to rally people in
the olden times good thinkers and philosophers created what we call religion to
form a uniform belief that the populace will follow with the good moral values. Indeed, the result is positive in terms of
the cooperation of the civilization that the Egyptian Gods and the Greek Gods
allow the world civilization at that time to organize the people into a Kingdom
at that time. Many world governments or
what we call empires at that time tried to combine their religious teachings
and governance knowing that religious teachings carries the good moral values
taken from the myths and stories of the ancient Gods. But in the books of Fukuyama and Yuval in my
previous blog articles shows that the integration of church and state later in
the civilization still resulted to a negative impact to the civilization that
in such a point in time of the universe’s history mankind killed each other for
the sake of their religious belief. The religious
war mixed with government and military at that time suppress the rights of
humanity that women and children are being exploited in society.
We can
even notice in the present religious practices that the equal rights of women
are still blatantly rejected by many religious groups. We cannot deny that through times and the
history of civilization men are always the head of the family allowing women to
be their only support even if you scan and read the many religious scriptures
from different religious groups, men should not surpass in terms of authority
for example. But those concepts started
to fade in terms of the complex experiences of mankind in the vast world
civilization. Thus, the writings of Sean Carroll based from the iconic
teachings and empirical studies of Darwin reveals that mankind and the utmost
understanding of its origin is still a present progressive situation not
knowing when to conclude the arguments of the origins of mankind. Another argument that many physical scientist
and philosopher are trying to discover is the natural life and the supernatural
being beyond the grasp of physical science and nature of men. The birth of knowledge during the years of
the enlightenment gave another glimpse of hope to the many philosophers and
world leaders at that time. Yuval and
Fukuyama revealed in their narrative journals that civilization management
started to embrace and used the introduced the many ideologies being formulated
by the great minds and philosophers later after the popularity of hyper-religiosity.
If you will read my blog article about the
story of Rasputin in the ancient Russia, you will notice how Rasputin used
religion to gain power and deceive the people of Russia at that time that even
the Romanovs called him to stay in their Palace to be their religious
adviser. But to think his personal
background is totally opposite to his present teachings being preached and
followed personally. The life of
Rasputin and many other religious leaders during that time created a negative
picture to the civilization at that time.
With the hunger of civilization to achieve peace they started to embrace
many ideologies such as communism by Marx and the famous capitalism by Adam
Smith. Later I will discuss in my next
blog the ideology of totalitarianism and its origin to show how different
ideologies still come up to a conflicting dead end in terms of conformity in
applying the ideologies in the real political machines of the world. Thus, the
argument of humanism still lingers in the minds of the many natural and
physical scientist of the world as to how to achieve the ultimate utopia of
mankind.

According to Sean Carroll there
is only one world, the natural world, exhibiting patterns we call the “laws of
nature,” and which is discoverable by the methods of science and empirical
observation. As such, many physical
scientist today are still going back to the basic observation of the world in
terms of the natural existence of the actual variables given by nature for
present scientist to observe. The
cravings of the real origin of men connects to the nature of the universe that
we live. The purpose and meaning in life
arise through fundamentally human acts of creation, rather than being derived
from anything outside ourselves. Naturalism
is a philosophy of unity patterns, describing all of reality as seamless web. As
mankind’s knowledge grows, we have moved by fits and starts in the direction of
a simpler, more unified ontology. It’s an ancient impulse even the Greek philosophers
like Thales of Miletus started to observe and narratively relate matters such
as the nature of water not in the sense of religiosity but more on logic and
science. Poetic naturalism further discussed by Sean Carroll in his text using
the analogy of Star Trek.
Carroll argues
that naturally men invent an imaginary ship in our mind because it is deem
useful for us. Carroll further asked if the ship is useful. But it reveals that
it is up for the given individual to decide.
The very notion of “ship” is something we created for our own
convenience. Relatively, in giving the
revelation of what is really the origin of mankind, men in general tried to
create mythical imagination to assure and to at peace the natural logical minds
of humans. Up to this very moment
physical scientist such as Sean Carroll are still comparing and contrasting the
very facts of the logical combinations of protons, neutrons, and electrons
affecting to the meaning of civilization from the past until to the present and
the future. What could Charles Darwin
contribute to the future of civilization? Would you think that the mythical
stories and records of the Greeks and the Egyptians are the real origins of our
species or the natural observation of Darwin in the origin of Species? How can governments survive in the future
given that religious integration to the various governments of the world as
well as to the ideologies such totalitarianism, communism, and capitalism are
starting to be obsolete and ineffective?
What could be the new world order that by the scientist specifically
political scientist can come up to a formulation of flexible order that will
unite the world in terms of peace related to the physical environment relative
to the natural events and change of climate.
Remember, mankind is connected to its habitat. When nature change civilization will and must
change to achieve a synchronize vortex of harmonious civilization.
