Robert Bosch; Germany’s most Important and Successful Innovator and Business Man (A Classic Marketing Management Inspiration) Book Review Synopsis
In my previous blog
article I imparted to my readers the importance of case study in the field of
business education. At the moment I am
inspired to share some of the iconic example of marketing management that
drives the history of innovation, technology, and commerce.
Between 1800-1900 innovative inventions is needed
at that time to compensate the alarming need of human commodities granting the
fact that the human population is starting to multiply and the scientific
discoveries to make human living more comfortable is becoming more scarce. Robert Bosch not only relies to his
engineering expertise but rather he also used his business marketing knowledge
to expand his company into a Multinational Company operating not only in
Germany but reaching throughout the globe.
Humble
Beginnings:
In the upper
Village of Albeck, the memories of the young Robert Bosch dwell upon the
monumental place where the late great Robert Bosch started his childhood
challenges. His father during his
childhood sold their inn and brewery and moved to another place called Ulm in
the year 1869.
From that place called
Ulm young Robert started his education from early elementary. Persistent from his career, Robert Bosch
finished as a Mechanic in Realschule.
During that time he never stop finding new things in the world of
mechanical engineering.
The
Breakthrough of “BOSCH Spark Plug”:
The invention of
Robert makes him famous not only in Germany but throughout the globe during
that time. The fact that at that time
train and railroads is so famous in transportation and trade. Moreover, cars are already in the market for
the replacement of horses and carriage.
Giving a rough technical explanation of what is the function of a
spark plug in the engine of the car, spark plugs will generate the electricity to
ignite the air and the fuel inside the engine to start the engine from
running. Technical aside, the invention
of Robert Bosch resolve the “Hard-Start-Engines” at that time. Until today Spark Plugs are still widely used
in conventional gasoline and diesel engine cars.
Business
Marketing Views:
From the past until
today man like Robert Bosch is an inspiration to many business innovators. Man like Bosch changes the standard of living
from his time until today. Humanities
can only survive from the technologies that we discover that is usable to our
practical daily living.
As the evolution
of our world will continue to change, man must survive to its ecosystem in various
aspects. The case of Robert Bosch is
only a part of the great innovators of our human race. The challenge is still on for humanities to
venture and innovate new technologies for our daily survival.
